The Wide-Eyed Hunter of Gratitude

“The Wide-Eyed Hunter of Gratitude” feels as though she has always been.   I think she was buried deep in the dark tea waters of the swamp only to be pushed up by a cypress knee trying to catch some life giving air.  The worms are always there.  They are the pillagers that grow at an alarming rate.

The original 16.5” x 20” drawing was created with Staedtler graphite and Generals carbon pencils on Hahnemuhle Bamboo/Cotton Rag paper.   She was brought to life in Mississippi, where I spend several glorious working hours each day in my country home studio on a pond where life is always creating.
